Welcome to Gauro

Guaro is the nearest town to where the country house is. The "gua" sound found in many Andalucian town names is thought to come from the the word, "agua" from the arabic influence - a place where there is water.

I looked up Guaro on www.answers.com and the site suggested:

"Guaro is the popular name for the Larenses, inhabitants of Lara State, in central west Venezuela. This name is said to come from the Spanish name of a parrot, the loro guaro (probably a species of Amazone) that was once endemic to this region.

Guaro is also the name of a kind of liquor in many places in Central America. It is a clear liquor made from sugar cane, and thus has a slightly sweeter taste than comparable liquors."

Guaro, in Malaga Province, Andalucia, Spain is in fact famous for almonds.
