Comprehensive Guide to Andalucia and Beyond
This comprehensive insider’s guide to Andalucia began some years ago, as my desire to share my passion for my new adoptive home, southern Spain. I started it with a dedicated focus on Andalucia, but over the years I have extended the travel notes and photos to include Iberia and Morocco.
I came to Andalucia is 2005 to learn Spanish part time at a language school in Marbella. It was intended as a sabbatical; but I never went back! I fell in love, got married to a Spaniard, and made Andalucia my European base. I renovated a cortijo retreat near the Sierra de las Nieves natural park. When I am not travelling for writing or consulting assignments, I divide my time between the cortijo in the mountains, and our home near Marbella.
I love discovering new places, and through frequent trips and adventures over the years across the Iberian peninsula, I think it is fair to say that I have become an expert on Spain in general, and particularly Andalucia.

Media Grad
In 1991, I graduated with Honours in Film and Media. Although I had dreams of script writing, I was drawn to the new, emerging media and marketing community in London’s EC1.
PR & Creative Agency
Within a few years I had mustered the confidence to set up my own PR & Creative Relations agency which went on to represent national and international brands for over 11 years. Here I fine-tuned my media, copy writing, account direction and business skills.
Travel & Lifestyle Writer
I later moved to Southern Spain. The change in focus has given me the impetus to focus on my writing, and indulge my love of travel, property, luxury and food.
Although my former work with my international PR clients took me across the world, it has not been until recently that I have been able to spend more time on international travel writing and consulting assignments.
In addition my time in Spain has enabled me to learn Spanish and to build significant credibility as a travel writer and expert on Spain.
