Ronda’s Annual Wine Feria

The theme of Ronda Wines continued today with the 3rd Annual Feria of Ronda Wines and Tapas. This informal, lively event is a great way to be introduced to the many bodegas of the area. At just one euro a glass, it’s rude not to try them all, surely?!

We started with a refreshing white from the organic winery of Frederico Shatz; then a rose from the Cortijo Los Aguilares; and then a red from Bodegas Lunares. We also tried the red from Jorge Bouet – he doesn't have a website, but the owner told ne they are working it. His wines are quite widely available – the last time I had his red was in Malaga capital in the tapas bar Cosmopolitan.

We also tucked into some wonderful ham and tapas too!!

In the afternoon we tried to walk off a little of this excess along the cliff, the newly restored ‘English way’, Paseo de los Ingleses -  to the Hotel Victoria which is being fully upgraded. A stormy day, but wonderful clouds and lighting.

I recently tried the Jorge Bouet TSMC over lunch in Ronda and grabbed a couple of bottles to bring back to Australia. A new favourite and yet another reason to go back there.

Hope it tastes as good back home as it did under the Andalusian sun 🙂
